We're in a Better Position Than We Were Last Year

Last season, after two games we had only accumulated 2 points. 0-0 draws with Sunderland and Stoke meant we were sitting 12th in the league and everybody was applauding Steve Bould on being such a great defensive coach. This season some fans are unhappy, but we've got 3 points from 2 games and are sitting 9th.
We'll will stay there unless Cardiff and Swansea win by more than 3 and 4 goals respectively. Results like that would actually be a huge bonus, and I wouldn't mind moving to 11th if manchester city and tottenham lose (small letters intentional).

Our league position is not the only thing that has improved from last season at this stage. The important players in Arsenal's squad is better: we have the same players as last year; plus Monreal, Sanogo and Zelalem which I think will prove to be more effective than those players let go. Most of the players have improved, I can't think of anybody in the starting XI that has gotten worse since last season. Our squad is a bit thin, but Wenger has assured us that he'll bring in players.

Wishere, Koscielny, Sagna, Szczesny and Fabianski (3 regular starters) weren't available and we still had Andre Santos in the squad! This year it's only Arteta, Vermaelen The Ox (1 regular starter) out injured. Theo Walcott was having contract issues, and we were worried that we wouldn't score any goals without van persie (small letters intentional).

Although the evidence is missing in action, Arsenal are apparently in a better financial situation than we were previously and hopefully this will metamorphosise into quality players throughout the next week.

One aspect that was better last season was that we didn't have to waste energy on Champion's League qualification, but we've basically wrapped that up.

I believe there are a lot more positives this year and I consider us title contenders.

Regards
